Take Our 20-20 Challenge

20 for 20

  • Spend 20 minutes picking up litter around your home, office or school.
  • Be a good neighbor by walking 20 paces outside your property line in all directions to collect trash or recyclables that may have been left there.
  • Honor a friend or relative by making a $20 contribution to Brightside in their name. (They will receive a letter from the Mayor!)
  • Round up 20 friends to participate in a neighborhood or campus cleanup project.
  • Pick up 20 pieces of litter today on your way to lunch, from a meeting or whenever.
  • Plant 20 (or more!) flowers to beautify your home or business. Flowers are not only pretty; they say “WE CARE”!
  • Take some time to appreciate any of the 20 BrightSite locations we have planted across the Metro area.
  • Buy 20 bags of compost and 20 flower bulbs this fall from Brightside for your garden.
  • Spend 20 minutes on the Brightside website learning more about how Brightside increases civic pride and why that is important. Then share the message with 20 people and ask them to spend 20 minutes at BrightsideInc.org.
  • Get 20 of your office co-workers together to adopt a Green Mile to keep clean.
  • Encourage everyone you know under the age of 20 not to litter - then remind your friends over 20, who should already know better...
  • Subscribe to our free newsletter On The Brightside – order 20 copies to place in your lobby
  • Distribute Brightside's e-news to 20 of your associates.
  • Refer 20 subscribers to Brightside's e-news or newsletter and get a container gardening set as our gift to you.
  • Get a group of 20 friends or co-workers together to participate in our fall community wide cleanup.
  • Tell 20 smokers: “Cigarette butts are litter too. Don’t litter!”
  • Get 20 car litter bags from Brightside to distribute to family and friends.
  • Spend 20 minutes looking at our Naturescape grant application and plan a beautification project for your neighborhood.
