The Louisville Metro AmeriCorps Program consists of 20 AmeriCorps members who are placed with non-profit organizations across Louisville Metro; mobilizing volunteers, tutoring and mentoring youth, working with multicultural families, teaching life skills to middle school males, guiding residents through the Home Energy Assistance Program, serving as a victim’s advocate for our elderly population, coordinating environmental programs for Metro Parks, recruiting faith-based organizations to identify health needs within the community and recruit/train volunteers.

AmeriCorps Members receive a modest bi-weekly living allowance, health insurance and student loan forbearance. After completion of a year of service, members will get an education award to help finance college or help pay on qualified student loans.

Whatever you do…..wherever you serve……you will make a difference!
